Eastnor is a school where we encourage everyone to be inspired through faith in God and his love for each one of us. God’s love for us teaches us about how to love one another. The core value of love is clear to see in the strong, trusted relationships that are shared between the whole of our school community and is at the heart of our actions.

Eastnor Parochial Primary School is committed to inspiring every individual who is understood and respected as a precious child of God. We embed the Christian value of love across school life because we believe that a person who feels loved, secure and happy can flourish and embrace life in all its fullness. We encourage everyone to achieve their potential, develop their talents, celebrate their uniqueness and rejoice in their relationships with others.

Our school motto: 'Inspire and Achieve’ is lived out every day because our pupils feel truly valued and ‘inspired’ by the adults they are working with. They also ‘achieve’ wonderful things because they have confidence in their own ability and a belief they can and will succeed.

Christian Values 

Christian Values are embedded in every aspect of our practice. Pupils at Eastnor grow into respectful, well behaved and compassionate young people who have an understanding and respect for diversity and difference together with a motivation to help others in their community and beyond.

Each half term we unpack a deeply Christian value (alongside a key British value) to help us develop a shared understanding of how to live out the school’s vision and mission:

Collective Worship

Collective Worship is an integral part of life at Eastnor C of E Primary and we recognise the importance of making sure this special part of the school day is enjoyed by all members of the school community. Every day, we schedule quiet moments for prayer; we have a special school prayer, as well as prayers for lunchtime and home time. We have daily assemblies led by teachers, children and special visitors; the leaders will invite everyone to join them in quiet moments of reflection too. We sing hymns and reflect on our lives, to show our thankfulness towards God.

Spirituality

Spirituality is an awareness that there is something greater than we are. It is a connection with the wonder and energy of life.

At Eastnor C of E Primary, spirituality is the heartbeat of our school. It is how we understand ourselves and our place in the world: recognising strengths, weaknesses and having confidence to challenge ourselves.

Spirituality is not something we can see or touch - we feel it inside all of us. It might be a sense of awe and wonder. It might be a sense of empathy and compassion. It might be a sense there are important questions to be asked which might not have obvious answers. It might want us to laugh, cry, sing, be creative or be still. We might have spiritual experiences with others or we might have them on our own. Spirituality is a sense of something greater than we are. 

Spirituality enhances and enriches worship and children's spiritual development. For us, this is through the way that we think and feel, how we relate to and reflect on life’s events as we grow. It is the way we are aware of, and choose to spend time with, others. It is how we see the world and reflect upon the things which are much bigger than us and our time on earth.

Behaviour and Expectations

In order to enable effective teaching and learning to take place, positive engagement and behaviour in all aspects of school life is necessary.

Our school family works to create calm, supportive and safe learning environments in which every person is valued and able to flourish. We promote positive attitudes to learning in all our pupils within a climate of trust, where excellent behaviour is expected at all times.

We work hard to develop positive relationships with all parents and carers and ensure the door is always open if they need to talk.

By know that by working in a three-way partnership with pupils, parents and staff we have the best chance of success for each and every pupil. 

Working in Partnership 

Eastnor CE Primary is a member of the Diocese of Hereford Multi Academy Trust. This Trust is a family of schools working together to succeed. 

The Diocese of Hereford Multi Academy Trust is made up of high schools, primary schools, church and non church schools, urban and rural schools across Herefordshire, Shropshire and Worcestershire. In the field of education within our rural region the DHMAT has a vocational mission of Grace and Service which helps to support our families through a strong educational system. The Trust believe in the power of collaboration and that by working in partnership we improve the educational system for all. 

The Trust's Vision and Ethos leadership group work with all schools and Directors to enable our vision to be lived.

'Educating for life in all its fullness' is the goal of the Church of England's 'Deeply Christian; Serving the Common Good' vision is central to both the school, MAT and Diocesan vision.
