Eastnor End of Year Outcomes

As you all know, all of the staff at Eastnor are committed to ensuring all children achieve the best possible outcomes in all aspects of their education but academic excellence remains fundamental.

I am very pleased to be able to share some of the key results children across school have achieved this year (they are our best yet!) which show that our children are consistently performing better than those nationally, across school .

In the Early Years Foundation Stage (Reception) 83% of the children secured a good level of development. In Phonics, 92% of children passed the phonic screening assessment in Year 1 - 50% secured full marks - and 100% passed the test by the end of Year 2.

At the end of Key Stage 1 (Year 2) 88% of children secured the expected level or better in Reading and Writing and Mathematic:. 94% achieved the expected level or above in writing and maths.

At the end of Key Stage 2 (Year 6) results were also excellent. 100% of our children secured the expected standard or above in Reading, Writing, English Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation and Mathematics.

We are very proud to secure excellent academic results each year. We firmly believe that children do their best when they are happy, have fun and feel nurtured, which is what we work hard to succeed in doing everyday.

Welcoming Maria Burgess!

We are thrilled to be welcoming Maria Burgess to join our teaching team this Autumn term. Many of the children across school have already worked with Maria, as she has helped Miss Davies and Miss Patchett with their welly walks and forest school sessions this year. Children in Key Stage 2 also benefited from Maria's knowledge and expertise during our Easter Experience at St Michael and All Angels Church, as Maria led one of the learning stations during the day. Whilst Maria will primarily be working with children in key Stage 2, we know that all of the children will want to get to know her even better and we are so glad that they will have the opportunity to do so. Welcome to our Eastnor family Maria!

Class 3 Film Premiere!

The children and I are so proud of our film we have created entitled 'Do today,They will know tomorrow' based on local history of the school and Eastnor. We all had a fantastic time at the Hereford Odeon at the red carpet event. We watched our film alongside others from lots of schools. The judges were so impressed and awarded us an Oscar for'Best historical research and evocation of the past'. The children all looked so smart in their best clothes.and behaved so wonderfully. It was so lovely to see all the children involved in the making, editing and playing the music all the way through the film.

Thank you so much to the parents and grandparents who came to our afternoon tea and special viewing of our film; the children loved sharing it with you all. If you were unable to come or would like to see it again, you can follow the link.

You’ll find them at on the Film Projects page (

Any problems just let me know.

Leavers Day Out

By the time you read this, the Year 6's along with Miss Clark and Mrs Driscoll will have been for their Leavers Day Out.

Very excitedly, we all boarded the train at Ledbury and headed to Worcester Foregate Street where we then went to Vue Cinema to watch Toy Story 4. After eating lots of sweets and popcorn we then went to Pizza Express and enjoyed a 3-course lunch before strolling back to the station and getting the train back to Ledbury.

A brilliant day was had by all! Our thanks go to the PTA and parents who covered the costs of this special day.

It doesnt seem that long ago that we were watching these ex Eastnor pupils on the stage at the Courtyard Theatre and were waving them off after their Leavers Service at Eastnor Church.

Congratulations to Lexi, Abby, Emily, Grace and Dan who all celebrated their Prom, after finishing GCSE exams at JMHS. Now, these photos do make some of the Eastnor staff feel (very!) old but we are so proud to hear about the huge success so many of Eastnor's past pupils have as they move onto pastures new! Have a wonderful summer one and all!

Class 3 success!

Recently Penny took part in a gymnastic competition and won lots of medals. She came 3rd in Tumbling. She also received a gold medal for being part of an amazing display to the song 'A Circle of Life.'

Well done Penny!

Goda recently took part in the Bath Open Championships and had great success. She came 1st in her routine for Hoop and Free Routine. Then she came 1st overall. Well done Goda!.

Goodbye and Good Luck Year 6!

I have been so proud of the Year 6's this year. Despite the curriculum objectives and the expected standard for Year 6 children becoming much higher than in previous years, the Year 6's this year have met every challenge with a smile, a spring in their step and a positive attitude.

They have tried their very best, and have really relished all enrichment opportunities, such as their residential trips and arts projects, and have had a thirst for knowledge and a desire to learn.

I wish each and every one of them the very best as they make the next steps in their journey, and hope that all of them keep their creativity, enthusiasm and zest for life.

I will miss you all and hope you come back to see us one day!
