Well done to team Eastnor which incorporates amazing governors, staff, children and parents! What a fabulous way to end the term!

Goodbye Miss Booton!

"Every ending is creating the space and opening for an amazing new beginning." Bryant McGill.

Today, we will be saying a fond farewell to Miss Booton. Miss Booton has been a loved and respected member of the Eastnor team and she will be missed by everyone. As she begins her new adventure at Trinity Primary School in Hereford,  everyone would like to thank her for the wonderful contribution she has made during her time at Eastnor. The children in her classes have flourished and she has inspired everyone with her talent for all things musical.

This newsletter is a special edition to celebrate Miss Booton's favourite moments at Eastnor Primary School this year!

Goodbye and good luck Miss Booton!

Report Comments

We have had a very positive response to the timing of the reports and would like to thank you for your lovely comments.

Our favourite included a report comment for Mrs Tart which reads as follows!

Mrs Tart is a pleasure to have in the classroom. She is always funny and helpful although her attendance could do with some improvement (we missed her this term). She is a very good listener and can hear an earthworm slithering at 10m. She excels at setting homework and never forgets to do so. Class discipline is no trouble at all as she has eyes in the back of her head. Overall, I have had a wonderful time in Mrs Tart's class and although she will miss me, I am confident that she will cope well in the next academic year. I thank her and wish her all the best!

By the very lovely but cheeky Cameron Rozmanec (and his dad!)

Class 4's favourite moments

I have been very lucky to take part in some fantastic opportunities here at Eastnor, and see some wonderful things.  This year has been no exception, and picking some moments that stand out have been tricky - but here are my highlights.

The Class 4 choir have impressed me no end with their dedication to performing and their love of learning new music.  From latin canon's to gospel medleys - they do everything thrown at them!  Most recently they performed at the Herefordshire Performing Arts Festival and a technical fault meant the backing stopped part-way, but as true professionals they kept on singing!

We also loved the performances of Macbeth by the Young Shakespeare Company and School of Rock by the students at John Masefield.  Both performances were educational and inspiring to the children about their transition to high school, or to simply love the theatre!

We also pride ourselves on our values and so running the Macmillan Coffee Morning at the Castle office was also a wonderfully humbling experience.

Most recently, we learnt from acclaimed children's author Mimi Thebo, and the children learnt all about how to create characters drawn from their own inspirations.  It was a fantastic workshop and taught us a lot about different approaches to our writing.

A fantastic two terms so far - let's see what summer has to offer!

PTA Fair Success!

Many thanks for coming to the Easter Fair. A fantastic £300 was raised and we have received lots of positive comments about the display board which shows how PTA money is being spent and what plans are in place for the coming year.

With ever tightening school budgets, the PTA contributions to school events and transport are very important to us!

Thank you to team PTA and to all our families for your continued support.

Class 4

Class 4 have wowed me with their commitment, enthusiasm and positive attitude to learning throughout this academic year so far, and all of them should be proud of what they have achieved to date.

From practical science investigations, to complex maths problems - they have tackled everything I have given them.  They have also soaked up the topics we have learnt about - from ancient Greece and mythology to learning about how natural disasters occur, as well as how modern society can affect the natural world.

They are a mature and conscientious class who I have had the pleasure of working with.  I wish all of the Year 6's enormous luck as they finish their journey at primary school (with just the little issue of SATs first) and also wish the Year 5's a happy transition in to being  top of the school!

I am sure all of you will have a fantastic summer term and good luck on your next adventures!
