Our teacher is Mrs Tart and our Teaching Assistant is Mrs Scull.
It has been a very busy and exciting start to the term, we are really enjoying getting to know the new children who have joined us from class 2 and are delighted with how quickly everyone is settling in. The children are showing a great enthusiasm for learning and finding out about the world around them. We are going to be very busy working hard on our English and Maths targets, exploring our new topic of ‘Stone Age to Iron Age', making sure we give our best in every thing we do and of course having lots of fun!
We follow the Key Stage 2 part of the National Curriculum. Each term we follow a theme and bring this into many of our lessons. In the past our topics have included The Romans, Continents, countries and capitals, The Egyptians, Weather and Climate Around the World and we have also carried out local history studies. Alongside our chosen topic we learn about Science, Art and Design, Computing, Geography, History, Music, PE, Design technology, RE, and PSHE and Philosophy for Children. We also learn French.
We are very lucky to take part in lots of enriching experiences in lots of different places. We regularly take part in the Ledbury Poetry Festival music project where we welcome London musicians and directors to help us to compose our own song. We visit Young Voices, taking part in one of the largest choir performances in the world. We all take roles in our end of year performance at Ledbury theatre, we will be staging our own version of The Wizard of Oz this year. We have also taken part in a Hereford filming project which led to us making our very own film in Eastnor's beautiful castle!
The children in class 3 are always ready to learn and make the most of any opportunity that they are presented with.
