We feel that it is really important all children and adults feel loved and supported as part of one family, through trusting relationships in a safe environment. At the heart of this vision is the understanding that God loves us and we seek to reflect this love through our actions as a school community and as individuals. Loving relationships between the children and within our church community are the foundations of success. The mental health and well-being of everyone in our school takes place from these strong foundations and therefore ensures personal growth.
The Bible reminds us
John:13 34-35 - ‘A new command I give you, love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another’.
It is only by visiting the school that our theologically rooted Christian vision can be truly felt and understood.
How do the specific needs of the school community inform the theologically rooted Christian vision?
Our school community has undergone change since the last SIAMS inspection, including joining the DHMAT and COVID. However, our vision has remained the same so that all in the school community know they are loved and love others.
How do we know whether people are flourishing?
Staff have access to an innovative system of professional development which enables all staff members to have time and space to access learning and to reflect. Staff have regular opportunities to meet, to talk and to listen, in groups as well as individually. Staff well-being is our highest priority, with staff having access to an employee programme providing support and rewards. A high number of staff have undertaken further development opportunities such as working with the DHMAT and Herefordshire Local Authority as we seek to live our vision and to love others. As a result of this, staff say that they feel valued, enjoy working at our school and know that they make a difference to children's lives.
Parents choose our school because they feel welcome, supported and loved. We are determined that our community is seen and celebrated. We share children's learning through online platforms, enable parents to support their children through sharing learning and invite parents into school on a regular basis.
Children love coming to Eastnor CE Primary School because they enjoy learning, being together and thinking about their world. Our carefully planned curriculum, dedicated staff and calm learning environment mean that children feel valued. Children's voices are heard; they actively lead many elements of school life and grasp the many opportunities that they are given.
Visitors, without fail, comment on the love, calmness and happiness when they visit. They notice our children's work ethos, their manners, behaviour, smiles and the way they treat one another.
How do we celebrate and share?
Children want to come to school and we celebrate good attendance. By working together children achieve well and make excellent progress at our school.
Through our online family communication app, learning values and Christian values stickers and awards, celebrations, concerts and services, we make sure that we recognise one another's strengths.
How are our values lived?
The only way to truly know the answer to this question is to come and visit. Spend time in our school, talk to staff and children, greet parents in the morning, go out on the playground or read with a child. We warmly welcome everyone to get in touch to find out more.
